Summer Cooling Tips

Summer is the time for fun and relaxation but it can be difficult to enjoy if you’re home is just as hot and muggy as it is outside. Tampa residents are no strangers to heat and humidity, but it doesn’t mean we enjoy anymore. Keep reading for some tips on keeping your home cool and comfortable all summer long.

Ventilation

You might think that in the middle of summer it’s best to keep your house closed up, but this only traps stale and musty air inside of your house. This summer, try opening up your windows every once in a while. We recommend opening them in the early morning before it gets too hot and in the evening after the sun has set. This way you’ll be letting the fresh air in without any of the heat.

Cook Out

This summer, try cooking outside as much as possible or try not cooking at all. The use of your oven and your stove top generate a lot of heat most of which end up circulating throughout your home, raising its temperature.

Use this as an opportunity to spend more time with family, friends, and neighbors and host more barbecues and cookouts!

AC Maintenance

Did you know that about 50 percent of your energy bills are dedicated solely to heating and cooling your home? And this number could increase if you’re not taking proper care of your HVAC unit. While preventative maintenance and seasonal maintenance might seem like a waste of money if nothing seems to be wrong with the unit, it can save you a great deal of money and stress in the future.

Don’t wait until you have no cool air in the middle of summer to make a maintenance call, be proactive and do it now!
