What should I do to maintain my HVAC and keep costs down?

We recommend that you have a check-up of your system before the season starts. For your air conditioner, you may want to consider scheduling an appointment with us in late winter or spring. For your furnace, summer or fall is a great time to have your system checked.

What should I be looking for to know if my HVAC needs a service call?

If your HVAC is cycling on and off frequently, that could be a sign that your system isn’t running as efficiently as it should be. If you notice a dramatic increase in your electric bill that’s not related to a change in weather, that may tip you off that you should give us a call to take a look at your HVAC. Other signs to look out for are unusual odors or strange sounds.

How often should I change air filters?

Some air filters need to be replaced as frequently as once a month, and others can be changed just once every three to six months. If you have someone in your family with asthma or allergies, or if your household has pets, you will want to change your air filters more frequently.

Either way, you want to check your air filters monthly. The cost of replacing air filters is relatively low, and it helps your HVAC to run at peak efficiency. That will help you save money in the long run.
