ACS will donate $5 to for every positive review on Google, Angie’s List, Yelp, or Better Business Bureau, helping to save KIDS with cancer.
At ACS Home Services, we understand that heating and cooling matter, but by no means do we think that they are ALL that matter. Giving back in some way, shape or form is part of our culture. We feel that the more we have, the more we should give back. A dear friend of mine heads up an amazing charity that contributes tremendously in the fight against childhood cancer. What is Neuroblastoma?
Neuroblastoma (nb) is a cancer that affects children. It is among the most common childhood tumors, accounting for 15% of all pediatric cancer deaths.
Neuroblastoma typically affects kids under five years old and is not usually diagnosed until the tumor grows and presents symptoms. The majority of childhood neuroblastoma cases are aggressive, showing survival rates of less than 30% with standard chemotherapy, and a disturbing 50% relapse rate. Once relapsed, there is currently no curative treatment, and for those under five years old, the survival rate is less than ten percent.
As such, new therapeutic approaches are urgently needed to treat these children.
Neuroblastoma Facts and Figures:
- Most common cancer in infants.
- 650+ cases per year in the US.
- Solid mass cancer (tumor).
- Nearly half of kids diagnosed are under two years old.
- Nearly half of kids who reach remission relapse.
- There is no cure for relapsed neuroblastoma.
- Neuroblastoma is one of 12+ types of childhood cancer.
